Liked it so much, we replaced it when he ate it!
Easiest and most convenient "seatbelt" we've used. Can double as a harness for brief walks during a car trip. Biggest con is that it's really easy for him to twist himself around and get tangled up in the seatbelt. He chewed through the extra length on the adjustment strap on his right side after getting tangled, about 3 days after we bought the harness...I tacked that strap into place (since it still fit, just couldn't make it larger) with my sewing machine and we continued to use it for several months, until the middle of the webbing on his back started to tear. He's a bit rough on equipment, I suspect the tearing is from how hard he pulls when we use this as a harness for quick ***** walks during car trips. Liked it enough that we're ordering the same one as a replacement.
Load up harness
Well made, dogs get used to it quite easily. I added a swivel to the carabiner securing it to the seatbelt to prevent things from bunching up if the dog makes a few turns while settling down. The hardware is mountaineering grade.
Traveling with my Service Dog
I was so thankful to have the Load Up Harness on a recent trip. Since we flew to our destination we didn’t have our normal car crate, so this harness, was a great safety measure. Peace of mind, knowing we were still traveling safe, it was easy to bring along, fit was comfortable and it only took a few seconds to strap in.
My Dog Hated It
The harness looked good and solid and was easy enough to size to my dog. However, attempts to actually attach her to the seat belt of my car were complete failures. She rapidly tied herself up in the seat belt attempting to back out of whatever was attached to her. She not only hated it, but she tended to quickly get into positions that frankly weren't safe for her, especially if there was a crash.
Load up harness
I purchased this for an Italian Greyhound who everyone knows is very hard to fit. He is an older dog and what is sometimes referred to as a "biggie iggy", we were able to adjust the harness to fit him perfectly. I did have to buy a strap for the seat belt though, he gets mobile sometimes and he managed to free himself without the strap. Taking some getting used to on his part, but I have found it very easy to use. And I am thrilled knowing he is riding much more safer!!!
