I love a lot of things about this pack- it’s comfortable, holds everything I need, and is easy to use. Cons: -the water bottle bounces pretty heavily when I run. If it fit completely down into the holder, it would be much better. I can put one of those short plastic kids waters in there and it doesn’t move at all. -the waist straps’ extra material ends up in front of you, along with the buckle, tow line, etc. it’s just a lot of “stuff” to have right in front. It would be nice if the excess was sewn so it ended up in the back, or tucked in somewhere
Wish I got this sooner
I've been running canicross with my goldens for years and finally decided to purchase the belt. My back finally doesn't hurt after a run! It's incredibly comfortable and doesn't bounce or slide (I removed the leg straps as I tend to run in skirts). I'm 5'2" and roughly 105lbs. Highly recommend this hip belt!
Excellent human harness
This is a great harness for cross country skiing or other skijouring activities with your dog. It is easy to put on, once all the straps are adjusted once, and light to wear. It looks like a mountaineering harness, but the grey is pretty unobtrusive, and the leg loops do help keep the belt in place even with the dog pulling from different angles. The water bottle holder is key, as it's inefficient to cross country with a backpack. There are ample pockets for your phone, keys, treats and other doggy necessities. The quick release is a nice emergency button should your dog decide to bolt somewhere you don't want to follow or get tangled up with other dogs. Or, if you pick up too much speed down a hill and your dog stops, and you don't want to launch the poor doggo as you fly past them. Note, I use it with the Omnijore tow line. The attachment point is just the orange quick release strap that comes across your front, so it could go through other attachments, but it is meant to go through the two small plastic rings on the human end of the RuffWear tow line.
