My girl is an American Bulldog mix so she needs a big collar. This one isn't so darned wide that it doesn't fit on her neck - it's perfect. Slides on and off easily. She isn't so powerful that she needs that heavier chain, tho, she responds to the sound of the chain rather than the actuality of it. But you can't have everything! Collar also has a place for her "jewelry" and a small pad that keeps it all quiet. And, if you don't need the chain, or have something else to attach, there's a metal loop for that too. All in all, versatile and just what we needed.
