these are the best boots i ever brought for my dog. They are great because they dont fall off my dogs paws.
Same size as other ruffwear footwear but they were too big
My dog's paws were swimming in these boots. They kept falling off and she was visibly uncomfortable. I'm really disappointed because I have other shoes from ruffwear that fit perfectly (were supposed the same size, 2"). Now I have to pay return shipping... what a waste.
We've used them twice. I've had trouble getting the front ones to stay on, but it's still a learning process. I think I just need to tighten them down before we head out in the snow. We're using these for snowshoeing and xc skiing. The Stig loves them. Her feet would be frozen otherwise. The only recommendation I have is making the elastic keeper straps a little larger so it's not so hard to use.
My service dog, Fonzie, will be wearing these in the snow and ice this winter! These are high quality. He wears the grip trex for summer.
Eisenhower is a service dog and we live in Utah, where getting mountains of snow is not unusual. He wears these boots every day of the winter to avoid getting salt in his paws. First, velcro on snow boots does not work so all those complaining of the bottom strap suggesting that it should be velcro, you are very misguided. The bottom straps are perfect for knee deep snow. Just make sure you utilize the little elastic meant to keep the strap tucked in. I have found it best to not adjust the top elastic. Once you have it at the right tightness, use the plastic tab to secure it on and off each time. Put the boots on your dog 10 to 20 minutes before going out in the snow. Make adjustments needed inside. I don't have a problem with boots falling off when I do this. I usually put his boots on at 6 or 7 am before getting to campus and they stay on until we get home around 6 or 7 pm. That long day includes him chasing his "huckama" around outside in the snow at 35 miles an hour and they rarely fall off. They are of high quality, and if there is a problem with the boots, ruffwear is fantastic about their warranty policy. He has the grip trex for summer and the polar trex for winter. I am not going to lie, he has had a couple of boots rip but each time I have been given a gift certificate for a replacement boot within 24 hours. I love the way ruffwear treats their customers and the fact that they are continually improving their products. I will continue to support their fantastic service and products.
