Do Not Purchase

Looking for a leash that will function as a leash and not let your dog run free? Then this is not the leash for you. I purchased the Front Range Leash when I purchased the Front Range Harness for my young, rambunctious pup. I used this leash for only one week and it unhooked twice while I was walking my dog. This happened when he did a quick twisting/jumping move after seeing a squirrel. I looked at reviews elsewhere and see that this is an issue across the board for users of this leash. If your dog ever jumps or lunges while you are walking, I would NOT recommend this leash for use with the Front Range Harness, as the "special" clasp can easily be depressed by the metal on the Front Range Harness and open unexpectedly. The Ruffwear folks are great, when I contacted them about this issue, they did give me an immediate refund and apologized profusely for my pup having escaped while walking. I recommend this company and many of other other products, just not this leash.

Front Range Leash

I love the padded handle, and the smaller handle is placed perfectly! It makes it very easy to direct the dog when in smaller spaces, and the color is exactly like on the website. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is somehow the leash came off one time during use. Luckily my dog (Service Dog) is very well trained, but it took me a while to notice it was not on her harness anymore! Has not happened since, we make sure the clip is facing up incase her body weight managed to push the clip in. We love Ruffwear, and will definitely keep using them!

Harness review

Winston my bassett hound doesn't even notice its on; it's that comfortable. The straps are quick release so easy on and easy off!

Great harness and leash combo

We were very impressed with the fit and quality of these products. Though we carefully measured our dog before ordering, it appeared too small when we initially tried putting it on. However, a call to Ruffwear customer service helped us make the necessary adjustments. It fit just fine. Very secure and comfortable, and gives us a feeling of control over our pup that we lacked with other products. Good job.

Front Range Leash

Clasp is poorly designed and constructed. I tried using it with a tandem lead for my 2 dogs and they easily pulled the clasp open and detached the leash from the lead. This type clasp is same as is on either side of the tandem lead.. The clasp on the coupler similarly failed on a couple of occaisions. Fortunately no harm came to either dog, but the clasp definitely can’t be trusted. I have returned the leash and coupler.
