The Grip Trex dog boots set the standard in paw wear for dogs who hike, bike, run, or explore the great outdoors with their humans.

With the Grip Trex, those paws can go the distance thanks to the rugged and resilient Ruffwear-designed Vibram outsole with exceptional traction and protection on varied terrain. Breathable mesh upper provides ventilation, and the closure system combines hook-and-loop with hardware, cinching around the narrowest part of the dog’s leg to provide a secure fit.

Set of TWO boots. Many dogs have wider front paws than rear paws. We offer our boots in sets of two so you can order the appropriate sizes for a good fit on both the front and rear paws.

    Grip Trex Dog Boots

    We live in Arizona. Quentin wears boots almost six months of the year. And since he has dew claws the socks are essential. Of the many types of boots we have tried, these provide the most protection and they stay on.

    14yr old Aussie gets a grip!

    We love our new GripTrex! They’ve given our dog the ability to get up from “slick” surfaces without all 4 legs splayed. He has neuro issues w/ IVDD and hind end sagging. Many non-slick surfaces have become slick (carpet, grass…). In the past we used 1 GripTrex boot (10yr ago) for protection and walks outside after toe pad surgery for a month+ each on 2 different occasions. We love the initial bootie dance. They’re easy to put on, a bit easier w/ the socks. They stay on either way. When he was younger he’d try to bite the Velcro strap off without success, but he accepts these fine. We bought 2 different sizes: 2” for back and 2.25” for front. The other benefit for us is that there is some sensory neuro stimulation—he doesn’t drag his toes or knuckle as he does when not wearing shoes ( or when using vetkin tape, still splays w/tape which is just sensory). We would love to be hiking and climbing and running the trails but those days are over. He loves his walks. Thanks Ruffwear!

    Perfect Fit

    These boots fit my Wire-haired Pointer perfectly. He sort of goose-stepped around for a few minutes getting used to them, and shortly later, he was running around like normal. We will be hunting in areas with sand burrs, so it’s very comforting that he accepted the boots so readily!

    Hiking boots for Maggie

    Once we reordered different sizes for our Grip Trex boots, I believe we have a great fit for Maggie's paws. The 2.0" were out of stock, so we ordered 2.25" for her front paws. They were just too big, but we reordered the 2.0" and they fit very well and stay on her paws. We used the size chart and it said that we needed 1.5" for her back paws, but they didn't seem big enough to cover the back part of her pads, but when we reordered the 1.75", they were a good fit. We immediately went for a walk down the street after fitting all her boots on her paws. It was about 96 degrees out, and she was having a great time and was so cute in her boots! We can't wait to take her hiking with us again!
