Used when walking a black lab, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and a Border Collie mix. They love it: it's waterproof, colorful, tangle-resistant, and flexible. As a result, they jump in the water, navigate city traffic, and run through the woods with abandon and joy. The leash is grippy without being annoying so I like it too. The handles are large and minimalist - sort of like the controls on a old Saab 900 - which is very convenient when using gloves in the winter. Lastly, the length (4 feet) and texture of the leash makes it easy to "feel" the dog. Despite having other Ruffwear leashes in the house, the Headwater is the only one we use these days.
The leash does exactly what I purchased it for. I wanted a light weight leash with an easy clip and water proof. I would recommend it to others.
Luna can't be trusted off leash yet so I was looking for something that could get wet and was fairly easy to clean, and this leash is perfect for that, I guess my only complaint is that I find it too short for what I need and it; it would be great if it was offered in different sizes, maybe?
Well, I bought this as a present for my twin brother, and I have to say my first impression is not exactly amazing. I bought the Headwater Collar for my dog Kiska, and I expected the leash to be generally the same. It is not as wide as the collar, and it just seems a little less sturdy - although your dog shouldn't be dragging you on the leash anyways. It is also a nice bright color (got him a blue leash), and also seems pretty waterproof, but it is also very stiff and has bends in it from probably being folded and stored for a long time. I trust that the kinks will relax out and the leash will hang flat. But again, this is a very sturdy material, so it will never be a soft leash. I'm torn if I would buy one for myself or not. I don't regret getting it for him, so I'll say I recommend it.
