My guy loves the water, no matter the temperature. I call him my little polar bear plunger. He swims in ice-cold spring-fed ponds in New Hampshire in January and even colder ponds and rivers in NW Colorado in late November (during snowstorms!). He can't get enough. But as soon as swimmy time is over, he gets cold fast. I always bring a few towels to dry him off but the Dirtbag Coat has been a game changer. We call it his robe and I wrap him in it after getting him mostly dry. It soaks up the rest of the water on his fur and keeps him warmer than just draping a towel on him. Not to mention, it stays put and won't fall off, like a towel would. I absolutely love the fit and the design-- the almost-turtleneck style keeps his neck and ears warm, the long drape keeps his belly and upper legs warm, and the full coverage in the back helps to dry his fur pants as well as keep his bottom warm. I feel good knowing he's warming up in his snuggly robe as we head back indoors, where he takes his spot in front of the fireplace for a well-deserved snooze.
In addition, the coat is easy to clean, dries quickly, and is a cinch to store and pack. The mesh storage bag is clutch. I appreciate that the Ruffwear team put so much thought into this product. We have a number of Ruffwear items but this one is in the Top 3, if not the favorite. Please never stop making this coat. 10/10 definitely recommend!
