Bought this for my 32lb, 11mos old Logatto Romagnolo, Murray, before a backcountry Colorado adventure trip. I tend to spend time at or above tree line on my trips there and the weather can be cyclic, cold, wet, and windy… sometimes 3xs in a day.
This jacket worked perfectly! We had several sleet and rain storms pop up and this kept him warm and dry. He can’t resist romping in every cold mountain stream he sees, even when it is getting dark and already below 50F. He was shivering after one of those dips in a stream at camp, and so I put this on to warm him up. In fact, it fit so well, that I left it on for him to sleep in one night.
We tackled his first 14er together, and this jacket was a key part of our gear… not a luxury. We started our ascent at around 0430, and summited by sunrise, and as usual, the summit weather was very cold and very windy, and we got caught in a short sleet storm before we could get off the peak. This overcoat (see summit pics) was important to keep my pup from getting too cold.l and wet.
Since we did most of the climb by headlamp, an added benefit was the nice reflective tubing stripes down the sides. I was easily able to keep an eye on his location and distance from me, and call him back as needed in the dark.
Glad I bought this. Quality seems great, and fitment was good, following the ruff wear fit guide.
