Summit Trex™ Dog Shoes

We live urban and I must walk my dog on pavement and sidewalks on our way to grass. Summers get +30C and my dog had burned her paws in the past, thanks to me :( This year I got her Summit Tre shoes.

First off, dogs need to get used to how shoes feel. Seeing her do the high stepping silly walk is too cute!

The shoes themselves are great. I measured as per the guide and the shoes fit snugly which seems correct. If my dog runs hard after her toy, the shoes have turned upside down on her foot and one even flew off. To be fair she runs HARD. If I got a larger size, which would be a little easier to get on, they would not stay on when she trots or jogs. Follow the size guide!

Her paws were protected on the hot pavement and I feel comfortable taking my dog our for exercise on the hottest of days.

I had to return and reorder a couple of times trying to find the right style and size, but we did it, and Ruffwear is pretty great about helping one get the right gear. My dog has the patience of Job, so getting them on and off has always been easy. It took some adjusting of course on his part, but even through the summer we practice, and he doesn’t care about them much anymore. I put them on and give him a few treat filled toys to chase and he does great. They are well constructed and through some alchemical process actually stay on. They really do help extend our outings in the winter by a considerable time, and the reflective strip is appreciated since it seems to be dark 57 hours of the day. I didn’t think to bring them on our recent summer cross country trip, but as miserably hot as it ended up being, I really wished I had. Get them, be patient, ask Ruffwear for help if you need. . . They’re worth it and so are you dogs little feet.
