Strategic material choices and design offer solutions for the challenges that hot-weather exploring presents. The light-colored fabric reflects solar radiation, while wetting the vest activates our Swamp Cooler™ Tech for that refreshing, just-stepped-out-of-a-lake feeling also known as evaporative cooling. Just give it a soak, put it on your dog, and go. When it dries, re-soak it to recharge it.

The Swamp Cooler™ Vest includes side-release buckles for easy on/off and a leash portal so it can be worn over a harness – topping off the essential features to make it our highest-coverage cooling option in the Swamp Cooler™ Collection.     Looking forward to using in the Texas summer

    I purchased this vest in anticipation of the upcoming summer months in Texas. The summer months are brutal here and most folks get their dogs out for walks very early in the morning; however, with a young child in the mix, this doesn't always happen. Having this vest available gives us more flexibility if/when we need to take her out when it's already feeling very hot. My dog is also a short snout breed, so this also gives me some peace of mind that, in addition to other steps, I'm doing what I can to keep her comfortable as the weather changes. Great idea, Ruffwear!

    AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY FOR A BUSY DOG IN THE SUMMER

    I originally got this for dog to wear to the zoo on a hot day. I wasn't expecting a lot. He is black so I figured that even just wearing something light would make a difference. But the effectiveness of this vest was unexpected and brilliant. He wore it at the zoo and it extended his interest and energy significantly. Since then it has become a staple for us. This vest made walking in the Oklahoma 'feels like 113º' days possible. He rolls and plays in it, but it has stayed together. When he gets dirty it's so easy to just throw it in the washing machine. The large is the perfect size for him—he's about 100 lbs. If you want your dog to be more comfortable this summer, then this is a must buy!

    Finally relief for a BigDog!

    I appreciate this cooling dog vest SO much! I have a large, 130lb Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. Even when the temp is reasonable, his black coat absorbs the sun's heat. This is the first vest I've found in his size!

    Swamp Cooling Dog Vest

    I have been nothing but impressed with the quality. Durability and style of all Ruffwear products I have gotten. Definitely worth the price for the high quality material and stitching. My Little Emmet does not tolerate the heat well so this coat opens up a world of adventures!!!
