Our RAD Adoption Program Is Back

One of our favorite things to do at Ruffwear is connect canine explorers with human explorers. And our Ruffwear Adventure Dog (RAD) Adoption Program helps us do just that.

What Is The RAD Adoption Program?

As an adventure-loving, outdoor-oriented organization, we believe dogs make the best running, paddling, hiking, biking, camping, and outdoors-exploring partners. Many adoptable dogs currently living in shelters are fresh air-seeking, high-energy individuals who would love to find an adventure partner for life.

Through the RAD Adoption Program, Ruffwear connects these dogs for adoption with folks looking for their new best friend.

While the pandemic caused us to hit pause on these events, we are stoked to bring them back again. Ruffwear’s Community Manager, Dani Reese, represents Ruffwear at RAD Events and gets to see their impact firsthand:

“It is a long standing value of Ruffwear to be able to play a role in effective canine adoption. There are so many active individuals and families that would make great homes and companions for the active dogs in shelters that often have a harder time getting adopted.

We adopted our very first family dog from the local shelter. Her name was Sally, and she was such an important part of our family. Since then, I adopted my own dog 7 years ago, and I can't imagine my life without her. Every time a dog gets adopted at one of our RAD events, I picture them living their best lives together and all of the shared adventures they will have.” - Dani

Our Latest RAD Adoption Event

On November 12, 2022 we partnered with Greenville County Animal Care and Mast General Store in Greenville, South Carolina to host a RAD Adoption Event. Here’s a recap of the three pups who found forever homes.

Nala

A dog poses with the man who adopted her at the RAD event.

3-year-old Nala is a Retriever Mix with a gentle, loving disposition. Her two favorite things? Walks and treats … and more treats. Clayton, who just moved to Greenville, adopted Nala at our event. He is excited to explore his new city with her!

Bubbles & Blossom

A man, woman, and their small child hold two puppies that they just adopted at the RAD event.

Bubbles and Blossom are two sweet, energetic sisters who enjoy exploring their surroundings. The Hall Family adopted them both, and they can’t wait to have two puppies growing up in the countryside with them.

Keep An Eye Out For Future Events

Stay tuned for our upcoming RAD Adoption events. Even better, help us spread the word to your network. Together, we can find more homes for adventure-loving canine explorers.
