The remarkable bond we share with our dogs represents the heart and soul of Ruffwear. Built on a vision where every dog is an explorer, we live for discovering new pathways both in the outdoors and within ourselves.
Through our Paw It Forward program, we channel that passion into purpose by supporting organizations who are aligned with our four core pillars: Working Dogs, Conservation, Adoption, and Community. For 2026, we are proud to dedicate our Paw It Forward initiative to the American Hiking Society (AHS), as part of our commitment to keep trails open and thriving for years to come.
Our ability to enhance outdoor adventure for dogs and humans goes hand in hand with the love and care of volunteer trail crews, who restore and maintain hiking trails all over the country — ensuring our access and sense of belonging in the outdoors.
Together, we can create lasting change and amplify our collective impact, so that we can all enjoy wild places with our best friends.

AHS is working to empower everyone to enjoy, share, and preserve the hiking experience. By working with AHS to celebrate trail volunteers and stewardship programs, we can continue to deepen the bond between ourselves, our dogs and nature, uncovering more of what really matters.
About AHS
The American Hiking Society’s mission is to create a world where everyone feels welcome in the hiking community and has meaningful access to trails. It works with Congress, federal agencies, and partners on policy and legislation to fund trails and protect public lands, runs volunteer trail crews open to all experience levels, and supports local events through its National Trails Day grants.
Their work helps protect the more than 200,000 miles of trails crisscrossing America, mobilizing over 657,000 volunteers to restore and maintain 46,000 miles of trails.
How to Donate
