Fidlock® magnetic buckles offer a secure, one-handed fastening solution. They combine a self-aligning magnetic connection with a robust mechanical lock, making them intuitive and easy to use, even with gloves. The magnetic attraction guides the buckle ends together while the mechanical lock ensures the fastener remains secure even under high load. The more force applied, the stronger the connection.

Fidlock® buckles are specifically designed and widely used in the outdoor and sports industries — their performance in inclement weather is a key factor in their design.

They are corrosion resistant to rain, snow, mud, sub-zero temperatures, and even in wet weather, the magnetic design automatically pulls the buckle ends into alignment, creating a secure, mechanical connection.

The open design of the mechanical lock sheds debris (snow, ice, mud) more easily than traditional side-release buckles.

X-Pac® is a multilayer fabric laminate  that is lightweight and 100% waterproof. Originally developed for sailcloths, the material ensures superior resistance against weather, dirt, and abrasion. 

X-Pac® excels in rainy, snowy, soggy weather due to its multi-layer laminate structure including an impermeable PET film, making the material 100% waterproof and superior to standard coated fabrics. This waterproofing is combined with a signature X-PLY fiber grid and a durable outer layer, which together provide exceptional tear resistance and structural stability, ensuring reliable performance in harsh, wet conditions.

We designed the Ridgeline to perform for those who demand the most from their gear. To achieve this level of performance, every component is engineered for peak performance. The harness body is made from an X-Pac® RX30 material for its incredible strength-to-weight ratio and waterproof durability, along with Fidlock® magnetic V-buckles for a secure, self-aligning mechanical lock.
