Love the leash but...
I love Ruffwear products generally, and the style and design of this leash was no exception. However, the choice of materials was not my favorite - the clasp not being metal has been problematic. While my dog is well trained, I am still not comfortable with with plastic clasp and ended up backing it up with additional hardware for peace of mind. Otherwise, a super leash that lets me get out and exercise me and my dog. Would get five stars if the clasp was metal.
I have an 80 pound black lab. This leash is very nice for walking, hiking, and running. It is wonderful to have the elastic bit on the leash so it doesn't jolt you as bad as other leashes with out the elastic might. The clip on the leash is different and was difficult for me at first but I have since gotten used to it and can easily attach it to my dogs collar or day pack harness. I also enjoy the hold closer to the clip on the leash. It is nice to use when I am walking on trails or sidewalks and pass others so I can hold my dog close to me.
Love the versatility
This item is very well made, and I love that the belt is adjustable so I can share the leash with my significant other. I do wish the "bungee-cord” part of it were a little more stiff; I’m already a little worried about it stretching out. And, the clip for attaching to my dogs collar is a claw design which is kind of a pain and I’d prefer the regular hook design that most other leashes have. I do appreciate that the clip is metal though, for when my pup tries to bolt after a deer ;). Overall I think the value for this is still excellent, but could use a few minor tweaks.
Excellent, the leash is awsome
This is a great leash for running the dog when there are not a lot of obstacles that she needs correcting for. The elasticity provides a nice buffer between the stop and go of the doggy brain, but it's not a good thing for training that requires quick, sharp corrections. I like the adjustable buckle that you can just set and it won't budge. Shorter length is good for adjusting the buckle to a hand hold or around the waist if your dog is alright being close to you.
