To keep your Undercoat™ Water Jacket’s neoprene in good condition and ready for many adventures to come, a little care goes a long way.
Tip #1: It’s a good idea to rinse the Undercoat with cool, fresh water after every use. This helps to wash away residues and to keep any funky odor at bay.
Tip #2: Speaking of funk – to avoid things like mildew and odors, make sure the Undercoat is completely dry before storing it. Hang dry the item in a place where it is not exposed to direct sunlight and allow it to air dry. Use a sturdy hanger, and try to mitigate creases or wrinkles.
Tip #3: Neoprene materials in general are prone to wrinkle and crease if folded and or crumpled. It’s a good habit to store your Undercoat hanging or laying flat.
Tip #4: With minor wrinkles or creases, often wearing the item and getting it wet will do the trick to release them. For deeper creases, you can stretch the neoprene out on a flat surface like a table or floor, smooth the material with your hands, and wait 24 hours.
Tip #5: Tumble drying, using heat, and ironing will damage the neoprene.
