I was initially torn between getting a small daypack for our frequent, short adventures, vs a bigger pack for multi-day backpacking trips. I’ve been pleased to find that this bag can do both! It’s compact enough to not seem too bulky on day trips - I like how well it fits to her body compared to bigger packs that tend to sag. It also fits a surprisingly large amount of stuff - enough to make a good dent in how much I’m carrying for her while backpacking, it without getting too heavy which I’d worry about with bigger-capacity packs.
I haven’t taken it out overnight yet, but a test-pack showed it would fit: vert jacket, large roamed leash, paw wax, ball, first aid kit, 8 cups of food, poop bags and a bowl. Not bad for a so-called day pack!
Love the handle and multiple attachment points. Willow is 50 lbs and a 27.5 inch girth, and the medium fit well cinched most of the way down. The color is nice and the fabric wipes off pretty well once dry.
I would love to see a pack of this capacity with removable saddlebags in the future.
