Front Range® Short Leash for Dogs

short traffic leash

Color

Selected: Red Sumac

It may be short, but the list of ways to use the Front Range™ Short Leash is long. Whether you’re navigating crowded areas, making a quick transition from the car to the trailhead before heading off-leash, or working on some training, this traffic leash packs big function into a small package.

It features a lightly-padded handle and Ruffwear's unique lockable Crux Clip™ hardware for a comfortable and confident connection. When off-leash, tri-fold the webbing into the elastic keeper strap for easy stowing. For dogs and humans needing to stick close together, it’s a surprisingly useful add to your leash quiver.

Complete the kit with the matching Front Range® Harness.

    Awesome for Training!

I love the length as it's helping refine our loose leash training in keeping my boys very close + giving them freedom to run "off-leash"! My two border collie mixes (45 & 50 lbs) wear theirs with the front range collar and we're looking forward to trying them with our harnesses!

    Dual Purpose

This makes a great traffic lead. It is also great for those with balance issues like mine. It is short enough that if I lose my balance I am able to pull against the lead and recover against my dog's bracing.

    Best idea for close walking

This is a fantastic option for any situation where you need close-range walking and don't want to have to deal with winding the length of a regular leash around your hand. I use it most for the transition to/from the car/dog park, in crowds where I know I'm not going to be needing to anchor my dog to something (because it's too short to be able to do that), for situations where I'm going to need to periodically take up the leash but will quickly let the dog go again (the leash can just hang down on my dog with no problem), and as an "emergency leash" where I might not have remembered to bring a full length but I always have this around since it's so small and easy to take.
