The Grip Trex dog boots set the standard in paw wear for dogs who hike, bike, run, or explore the great outdoors with their humans.

With the Grip Trex, those paws can go the distance thanks to the rugged and resilient Ruffwear-designed Vibram outsole with exceptional traction and protection on varied terrain. Breathable mesh upper provides ventilation, and the closure system combines hook-and-loop with hardware, cinching around the narrowest part of the dog’s leg to provide a secure fit.

Set of TWO boots. Many dogs have wider front paws than rear paws. We offer our boots in sets of two so you can order the appropriate sizes for a good fit on both the front and rear paws.

My 13 year old shepherd has developed degenerative myelopathy. These boots on his back paws allow him to still go on his walk and not scrap his toes raw on the pavement. He knows and is so cooperative when I put them on.

They Don’t Last Forever
Bought our first set of RUFFWEAR Grip Trex back around 2000. Three Dobermans, one Greyhound, and now our second Standard Poodle we have broken down and ordered our second set of Grip Trex. These boots are terrific. Because of length of toenails (my fault) the toe of a couple of the boots is splitting out, the Velcro doesn’t adhere as well, and the soles are showing there wear. I can’t tell, or even imagine, how many miles these boots have on them, but who cares, these are the best boot, in my opinion, on the market. I am 77 years young. I plan to buy our third set in 2030. I challenge anybody to beat that.

The Best Boots Available
I love these boots and have used them for years with both my Great Pyrenees, who had two toes instead of few claws, and my Standard Poodle, with no dews. They stay on, protect their feet and don’t rub or chafe. My Poodle has shaved Poodle feet. From May to October, we use these boots on every outing due to heat. This is daily use. My dogs are service dogs, so the shoes get lots of wear.

Great for beating the heat of summer sidewalks
I bought two pairs of these, one pair at 2.5 inches (back paws) and one pair at 3 inches (front paws). They’ve been absolutely indispensable for walking my dog on the south Florida pavement. As an added bonus she has way more traction inside on tile and hardwood as well.
