Elevated dog beds aren’t new. But building one that meets Ruffwear’s standards for portability, stability, and durability meant rethinking the details from the ground up.
The Mt. EverRest™ Dog Cot started with a simple goal: design a light, strong, and stable rest spot that moves with you and your dog. Inspired by ultra-light backpacking chairs and their impressive strength-to-weight ratio, the team engineered a one-piece, shock-corded aluminum frame to make setup fast and intuitive. The aircraft-grade aluminum keeps its weight low (just under 2.6 lbs), yet offers impressive strength with a 70-pound weight capacity.
On the top, you’ll find a reinforced topper with a soft, long-wearing microsuede surface that conforms to your dog’s sleeping style. It has just enough give to mimic the sink-in comfort of a camp chair while staying supportive through seasons of travel, dust, sand, and sun.
To keep the cot steady for dogs hopping on and off, non-slip feet anchor it whether you’re on hard dirt, tent flooring, or the back of a car. And when it’s time to move out, everything breaks down quickly into the included storage bag, complete with a shoulder strap and a clever design that lets you attach the bag directly to the cot frame when set up. While the Mt. EverRest™ Cot naturally promotes airflow beneath the sleeping surface (a huge benefit in hot conditions), the team knew there would be moments when dogs need more warmth: cold nights, high mountain breezes, or shoulder-season chill.
The new Mt. EverRest™ Dog Cot Cover answers that need with an insulated “skirt” that wraps around the cot, trapping warm air below the sleeping surface and blocking drafts from below. Instead of piling on blankets that slip off or collect dirt, the design delivers a secure, seamless fit thanks to the reinforced corners built specifically for the Mt. EverRest™ frame.
On top, the cover features a reversible construction: Soft microsuede for cozy camp mornings on one side, and lightweight, durable nylon ripstop for more rugged or damp conditions on the other. The insulation adds warmth without bulk, giving dogs the comfort they need across seasons. Lastly, a stuff sack makes stowing simple, keeping it clean and ready for the next outing.
