Love these, very secure on paw
These are great, they help my older dog with traction on wood flooring. They are very secure and stay in place. It is much easier for him to get around our house with these booties on.
Good protection, but get stinky
We purchased the Summit Trex for our senior (11 y/o) doggo who is recovering from a spinal cord injury and as a result drags his back feet slightly. The shoes offer good protection for his feet/nails and have held up fairly nicely from wear, even though customer service was clear when I contacted them that their shoes are not really intended for this purpose. Only 4 stars because they take FOREVER to dry out if they get wet (like wearing them out in the rain). I’m talking 2-3 days to dry naturally. We did put them in the dryer to try and speed up the process which made the shoes start to come apart, so we won’t be doing that again. Also, after just a couple weeks of daily outside wear they started to get very stinky. He only wears them outside, so no more than 30-40 min per day, and these are advertised as daily wear so that was unexpected. I would not be comfortable putting them through the washing machine considering the damage caused by the dryer.
Seem to be well made and durable, dog can’t walk in them
I purchased these at the suggestion of our Vet, because our elderly dog scuffs the top of his paws when walking on pavement and it’s hard where we are to avoid it. He gets stuck in various places due to the boots catching on the ground, steps, and we can’t go more than 100’ without him falling due to it. Nicely made and stays on, but just doesn’t work when a dog has limited mobility and any additional resistance causes him issues. Off to find another solution.
The summit Trex are great overall, but they irritate my dogs' dew claws and seem to bother her back feet where there would be dew claws. I tried putting the socks on and then the boots and that did not help, so if your dog has dew claws I do not recommend them. Otherwise, they seem like great boots and are well built and sturdy.
Boots perfect for service dogs.
I love these boots. Here in Arizona, the pavement and sidewalks get super hot and can burn a dogs paws in as little as 5 minutes! I bought these for my service dog to protect his paws while we are out and about. They are easy to get on and haven’t fallen off. I like that they come in sets of two, as most dogs front paws are a different size than their back. It lets you get a perfect fit for both feet.
