The Ruffwear Core Cooler™ is an add-on that cools dogs, adds additional support when lifting and assisting, and further stabilizes packs and harnesses. This three-layer chest panel uses evaporative cooling to efficiently pull heat from the dog’s core during warm temperatures and high intensity activities. To activate, wet the Core Cooler with water and wring out. The Core Cooler easily attaches to Ruffwear harnesses and packs using hook-and-loop sleeves:

Beat the social heat!

This really helped we attached it to the webmaster harness and he wasn't complaining about the heat at a few min. I only wish they made one for humans.

Keeping cool in Florida

I live in Florida and hike often with my Catahoula. We try to stay near water but even then it can get hot, really hot. This Core cooler by Ruffwear is used with the singletrak pack. It is perfect for keeping my big boy cool. I highly recommend Ruffwear! I also have an older version of the swamp cooler that I use on my Pitbull rescue. It has held up wonderfully and keeps him cool as well.

COOLER FIT SIZING

THIS ITEM TAKES SOME PRACTICING AND WEARING FOR MY DOG TO TOLERATE HAVING IT ON DESPITE THAT IT IS WIDE AND OVERLAPS THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF A HARNESS. THE COOLER DOES NOT FIT THE TWO HARNESSES FOR MY FRENCH BULLDOG FROM RUFFWEAR I HAVE PURCHASED. THE VELCRO STRAPS ON IT ARE NOT WIDE ENOUGH TO GO AROUND THE HARNESSUNDERSIDE STRAPS. THE MATERIAL DOES GET COOL, BUT IT'S NOT AN AUTOMATIC FIX TO PUT ON MY DOG TO TAKE HIM AROUND THE BLOCK ON HOT HUMID DAYS!

Good idea , not very practical

I used it in 17 hikes, on a super well trained GSD, 80LBs 1- dog must be well trained to wait and put on the vest 2-harness and core cooler make it heavier , i wish u could just put on the core cooler by itself 3-it is an extreme hassle to attach corecooler to the harness, u need a flat space, for a verylogical reason atrachments are with Velcro but once it gets wet it is not easy.... in the middle of nowhere you also do not want to put iton the ground, since it is wet and absorbs all the dirt and dust 4- you need good amount of water to soak it first, and no it does not make sense to soak it, attach it to harness, make sure yourcar seat does not get wet, drive for an hour then put it on the dog, it almost not cool by then either... must be soaked on spot.and you can not soak a large size dog's core cooler with 1 bottle of water.. 5-overall it is not an item to be used in daily basis.. 6-there was no video instructions on how to attach it to tge harness, i called and ask, nake sure you try it at least once all dry to learn. I hope Ruffwear comes up with better idea...
