Strategic material choices and design offer solutions for the challenges that hot-weather exploring presents. The light-colored fabric reflects solar radiation, while wetting the vest activates our Swamp Cooler™ Tech for that refreshing, just-stepped-out-of-a-lake feeling also known as evaporative cooling. Just give it a soak, put it on your dog, and go. When it dries, re-soak it to recharge it.

The Swamp Cooler™ Vest includes side-release buckles for easy on/off and a leash portal so it can be worn over a harness – topping off the essential features to make it our highest-coverage cooling option in the Swamp Cooler™ Collection.     Keeps us active in the summer!

    I cannot say enough good things about this vest! Our dog gets so overheated in the summer, especially if we don’t keep his coat short. Walks aren’t fun for him in the heat, and he constantly wants to stop and lay down in the shade. The difference when we put his vest on is noticeable and just makes me feel so much better about taking him out. He gets more energy, doesn’t pant as heavily, and will happily go on hikes and longer walks in 80-90 degree heat.

    We usually soak it in the sink or a bucket before we head out, so it’s really saturated. We also often bring an extra water bottle to soak in partway through longer walks.

    I HIGHLY recommend this vest if you live in a hot climate. Your dog will be so happy!

    Great product!

    Fantastic at holding water all over my pup's body when hiking in the desert. I do wish they would offer it in a tan color as it is going to look pretty nasty fast.

    Looking forward to using in the Texas summer

    I purchased this vest in anticipation of the upcoming summer months in Texas. The summer months are brutal here and most folks get their dogs out for walks very early in the morning; however, with a young child in the mix, this doesn't always happen. Having this vest available gives us more flexibility if/when we need to take her out when it's already feeling very hot. My dog is also a short snout breed, so this also gives me some peace of mind that, in addition to other steps, I'm doing what I can to keep her comfortable as the weather changes. Great idea, Ruffwear!
