Undercoat™ Dog Water Jacket

We just used the water jacket for the first time and it worked really well! I would call it a success.

My goldendoodle is 65lbs and his neck measures about 19". We got a medium and it fit perfectly. It's a really nice material that's easy to wash.

The water temp was about 59 and it was 58 degrees outside, sunny, and slightly breezy. The water was definitely cold. Personally, I wouldn't want to him go swimming if the water and air temp was any colder.

His legs clearly got wet but he never shivered. Brooks mostly hangs around on the beach where the water meets the sand but if he does go in the water, it's a few feet deep and he'll doggy paddle around and come back, so nothing crazy. His back and stomach stayed dry (mission accomplished), but I wouldn't say the jacket was warm. I was expecting to feel some heat when I put my hand inside the top of the jacket but I didn't. Another win was that I didn't have to give him a bath! I dried his legs and neck off with a towel neck and used the hair dryer for a few minutes and that was it! Brooks was never bothered by the jacket and was able to move around freely. (Very little phases him though.)

Overall, I think it's a great jacket, if you're in similar water and weather conditions. My only suggestions to Ruffwear is to add a handle to the top of the jacket so I can easily grab him out of the water.
